1. Agreement

By using YakYak's website and services, you agree to these Terms. If you are using YakYak on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. Service description

YakYak provides tools to rewrite or "translate" messages between roles (e.g. Developer, PM, QA, Designer, Legal, Support, Marketing, Executive, Agent, Bot, Customer, Stakeholder, Finance) and optionally between natural languages. The service uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate output. We do not guarantee that output is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular use.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms or misuse.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use YakYak to:

• Violate any law or others' rights.
• Send harmful, abusive, or illegal content, or content that infringes IP or privacy.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or compromise our systems or the AI services we use.
• Use the service in a way that could harm YakYak, our staff, or third parties.

We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms.

5. AI-generated content and disclaimers

• AI use: Our translation/rewriting is powered by AI (e.g. Google Gemini). Output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate.
• Your responsibility: You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before using it (e.g. in comms, docs, or legal/regulatory contexts). Do not rely on it as legal, medical, or professional advice.
• No warranty: The service and AI output are provided "as is". We disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for decisions or outcomes resulting from your use of AI-generated text.

6. YakYak staff

Our personnel (employees and contractors) may access systems and data only as needed to operate the service, provide support, and comply with the law. They are bound by confidentiality and our policies. Your use of the service does not create an employment or agency relationship with any YakYak staff member.

7. Intellectual property

You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to use it to provide the service (including sending it to our AI providers). We own our brand, software, and materials; you may not copy or misuse them without permission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, YakYak and its staff, affiliates, and AI providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service or AI output. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or, if no fee, a nominal amount). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those cases our liability is limited as the law allows.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify YakYak and its staff and affiliates from claims, damages, and costs arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time. You may stop using the service and close your account. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. liability, indemnity, dispute resolution) will survive termination.

11. Changes

We may change these Terms; we will post the updated version and indicate the effective date. Continued use after the change means acceptance. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-app notice where required.

12. General

If any part of these Terms is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a right does not waive it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States (or your jurisdiction as stated at signup). Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
